6 Companies Set a New San Francisco Food Bank Record

LinkedIn

Setting a record is fun. It’s even more fun when that record makes a significant difference in the community.

This past Friday, August 21, six Bay Area companies came together for the fourth Startups Give Back volunteering event. The companies included:

  • LinkedIn
  • Disqus
  • Tradeshift
  • Causecast
  • MixRank
  • Founders’ Pledge

Over 30 attendees worked together to help the Food Bank package food that would be delivered to people in need. Little did the attendees know that a new record was about to be set.

In just three hours, the combined efforts of the attendees led to over 46,000 lbs of food being packed! That equals 1,652 boxes of food and a new San Francisco Food Bank record.

Below are a few shots from the event.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. When companies come together to make a difference, amazing things happen.
