Every kid deserves an opportunity to learn how to code.
That’s what Codestarter, a nonprofit that provides kids who want to learn how to code with a laptop, believes.
To support Codestarter and their mission, Startups Give Back ran a volunteering event at their San Francisco office.
The day started off with a pile of boxed laptops in the middle of the floor. Each laptop needed to be taken apart, configured, and rebuilt in preparation for a kid’s coding dream to come true.
Then came the fun part…taking the laptops apart.
Best part? Attendees didn’t have to be technical experts to rebuild the laptops. Step-by-step instructions made it super simple to accomplish the rebuilds.
A power source, a couple commands, a few screws to put the laptops back together…and wallah, laptops ready to be delievered to a school in the Tenderloin.
A laptop can change a kids future in an instant. Happy to have had a hand in this effort.
A big thank you to Codestarter for hosting Startups Give Back!
