Startups Give Back Events

Announcing Upcoming 2017 Volunteering Events

LinkedIn

It might be a New Year, but Startups Give Back has the same mission: to make philanthropy a top priority for startups around the world.

With that being said, there are several volunteering events confirmed for the San Francisco Bay Area with more currently in the works — including events in New York City and Chicago.

Here are the events that have been confirmed to date.

San Francisco Food Bank — February 23

We’re kicking off 2017 with a trip to the San Francisco Food Bank to help the nonprofit package food for the thousands of individuals and families they serve in the community.

Back in August of 2015, we set a new record at the Food Bank by packaging over 46,000 lbs of food. We’ve had a goal of breaking this record ever since.

Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco — March 23

In March, we’re heading to Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco, a fantastic organization that gives youth the tools, mentorship, and activities they need to grow as individuals.

Volunteers for this event will participate in a variety of activities including homework help and interacting with the youth through sports and games.

Urban Sprouts — June 8

On June 8th we’re heading to Urban Sprouts, a nonprofit that’s on a mission to grow healthy schools and communities through garden based education.

We had our first volunteering event at Urban Sprouts in 2016. With the help of several companies, including BuzzFeed and Tradeshift, we completely transformed a patch of land that was covered in weeds and other debris into a lush orchard.

Registration isn’t open just yet. More information will be provided at a later date.

Startups Give Back chapters

With the launch of our chapters in New York City and Chicago (more chapters are in the works), we’re excited to mobilize startups in these communities to make a difference.

The Chapter Leaders are busy planning their volunteering events for 2017, so keep an eye on our event calendar.
